‘Discovery’ of superfood appears in the news all the time, but which one actually delivers and is right for you. The simple answer is all of them, some of them and none of them.

Sadly, no one food is able to turn your health around and there is simply no quick fix when it comes to health and well being. Our body did not come with an instruction manual, but if it did, it will be a pretty long one requiring regular maintenance and tune up. If your goal is to be healthier, try incorporating the following into your life. Do it one at a time as you want them to be permanent fixtures in your life.

  • drink plenty of filtered water and ditch soft drinks/soda
  • eat your veggies at every meal including breakfast; fill half your plate with vegetables (french fries/chips not counted), the more colourful the better
  • be ‘present’ when you eat and chew your food properly. Being present means you pay attention to what you eat instead of just shuffling food into your mouth.

There are plenty more changes you can do for a healthier you but if you are able to start with the ones suggested, you are off to a good start. If you want to get the right information on nutrition and health, find a nutritionist in your area for some professional advice.
